Bosch Mixer Review

I have found the Bosch Mixer to be my all time favorite kitchen appliance! Not only is it great for making my own bread with its dough hook (you can make up to 6 loaves of bread at one time!), but it has a whisk attachment too for speedy whipping up of ingredients for homemade goodies. Excellent large capacity bowl. It also comes with an awesome blender, the most frequently used item on this machine in my house (plastic blender so no worries of breaking). I have found the blender to be the best around for making smoothies with all those frozen fruits and stuff (you can’t beat 700 watts). Works like a charm with 3 different speeds. They have a really good warranty as well (lifetime on the motor, three years on the parts).

Now this is a spendy item. I believe it is a high quality mixer, bread machine, and blender all in one! If you think about it, the cost is actually significantly less than if you purchased those items separately.

I bought mine here at Pleasant Hill Grain Company. They seem to put this item on sale quite frequently. I believe I paid $320 for mine just around five months ago. It has been worth every penny! This company has excellent customer service as well. Maybe something you can ask for Christmas? Now your husband may not be up for it at first as mine was but I have definitely won him over with the usefulness of this machine. He has been very impressed!

By the way, my mom bought this machine at least 15 years ago and it is still working awesome for her. We made homemade bread with it regularly growing up.

I liked my mom’s Bosch. I think it died after 20-30 years. (She might have had it before I was born, I don’t remember. :) You know, if your family gets larger and you start consuming more bread, there is a stainless steel bowl that goes with it. The bowl is larger and allows you to make 8-10 loaves. (If you have that much oven space to bake them!) I used to bake bread and sell it when I was a kid, and I made two batches once a week using the Bosch.

    Hi Lindsay,

I just purchased a Bosch as old age in kicking in and kneading the bread is becoming more difficult.(My wonderful Kitchen Aid will only go so far) :o ) My question is since I understand you can make six loaves, just how does one do that if one’s oven only holds four loaves. I noticed you only make four loaves and is that the reason?

    Blessings,
    Sunny

I have a Bosch mixer that my mother gave me. It is the one she had when we were children. That means it more than 20 years old! Despite its yellowing plastic it is still working strong! I make bread for our family of six with it every week, the meat grinder attachment is great for baby food too. I just LOVE this machine.

  5. I bought my first Bosch Mixer in 1984! It is still running strong! I have raised 8 very hungry boys and 1 darling princess using this mixer. It has held up wonderfully. :) You can’t go wrong making bread and other items with this mixer. Love the machine!

Our Bosch machine is about 30 years old and was heavily used before we got it (it was a gift from DH’s aunt). It still works like a charm. We love the big food processor/grater attachment. You can shred a block of frozen cheese in no time at all.
DH’s aunt swears they aren’t making the Bosch machines as well as they used to though. :(

I just bought a Bosch Universal mixer after much searching on the computer.I had a KA that could not handle making bread and that is what I wanted to do the most with the machine…I love my Bosch. With the machine I make cakes, bread, etc. Several sites offer this machine with free shipping. It is well worth the price that we paid for it. I have been baking all of our bread for several weeks now..Love, love it…

Hello! I enjoy your blog and appreciate how…no matter what your view…it seems you are completely reliant on the Lord as the very source of your GOODNESS! There is a lot of oppinion out there…but you can tell when someone has a spirit of Love and Grace and good Truth! So, thank you for your time and energy!

While I’m at it…what do you use as a food processor (like for baby food, purees, etc.)?

I bought a much older model from ebay several years ago. It still works beautifully. I absolutely love it! It kneads bread like no hands can!

Currently saving for a Bosch. I have a KitchenAid which I love for all things BUT bread… but bread seems to be what I KNEAD it for the most (buwahaha) We go through 2 loves a week and I find that I’m spending most of the time kneading the bread by hand. I have a close friend who RAVES about her Bosch – can’t wait to get my own someday.
