Passionate Homemaking Readers Meet-Up!

Hey gals! I have been so blessed to bump into many local readers in the most random places as of late – from the Oregon Zoo to my local Burgerville restaurant. So, I think it is high time for a fun meet-up play date! If you are local to the Portland, OR metro area, we would love to invite you to a play date/picnic at the park!

When: Friday, August 3, 2012
Time: 10-12noon
Where: Ventura ParkĀ (SE 115th & Stark St) – we will meet at the playground on the west side of the park
What to bring: A picnic lunch and any questions you would like to ask! I thought we could just have a fun and casual Q & A time on all things related to homemaking. If you have kids, please bring them along and they can play together while we fellowship!

Let me know if you are able to make it!

My family of 6 and a group from our church here near Atlanta, GA just left Portland last week!! We were on a mission trip! We have joined with Greater Gresham Baptist Church in helping a church plant in the Happy Valley area. Trinity Church meets at Verne Duncan Elem. I wonder if any members of either of these churches are readers of this great blog?!? It’s so cool to have a connection with a city that we pray for often!! I wish we could be back to meet more fellow believers! We already miss your cool weather and sweet people. Hope to go back someday soon. Blessings from the deep south!

I wish I could meet you ladies! As a long time reader, I am very thankful for the heart for missions, the recipes to nourish my family and the honest look at REAL LIFE as a homemaker, wife, mother, friend.
All our love from Okinawa, Japan. (6 years and counting!)

I was in Portland last weekend and thought of you. I’m from central Oregon and love visiting friends and family up there. I’ll put this in my calendar and see if I can be in the area on that day. Thanks for arranging this!

A meet-up sounds fun! I’m in Lancaster, PA so I won’t make it either, but I hope you have a great time!

Lindsay, I have been a reader of your blog for several years and I recently moved from Portland to Salem. Since my hubby and I share a car, I won’t be able to make it to your meet up, although I would love to meet other like-minded mamas! I hope you will do this again in the future!

I would love to come, but I’m at work during business hours! Great idea, though.

We only live two hours away in Corvallis, but I will be recovering from surgery from August 1st. I will wholeheartedly be praying that your meetup blesses each that attend and those that are with you in spirit. Your blog in my email lifts me up and I pray that your time together lifts each of you up and binds you together in the common goal to worship God by the way you live and those that you influence the most, your family.

    Blessings!
    Heather

I live in SW Portland. My 9 month old naps until 10am and then I’ll head over. Sounds like fun! I definitely have a few home manager questions I’d be curious to get your take on. My daughter usually nurses around 11am. Is that park “nursing friendly” with a cover, or should I do it before I get there?

Nursing is totally appropriate! Glad you can join us!

I so wish that Nashville, TN was closer to Portland. I would love to fellowship with you and other women passionately pursing to serve Christ through their family! Thank you for blessing me with your blog many miles away

Wow! I’ve thought it would be neat to meet you for quite some time now as we seem to have so much in common! I live about a half hour north of there so I am planning on coming! Now if I can just remember all the questions I’ve thought of over the months.

I wish we could join you but my 3 boys and I will be with you in spirit as we live in Australia. We hope you have a really lovely day!

  19. Lexie July 11, 2012 at 11:41 am #

If only Memphis, TN was closer…

Aww, sounds like fun! I would love to come, but don’t think I will be making it from Georgia at 7 months pregnant! Haha!

  21. Denise July 11, 2012 at 5:43 am #

I didn’t realize you live in Portland! My husband and I grew up there and have temporarily relocated to Dallas, Texas. I hope to meet you when we move back in about a year
    Blessings,
    Denise
