NaturoKits Giveaway!

NaturoKits was founded in 2009 by two moms and licensed naturopathic physicians, Julie and Padeen, who are passionate about helping moms and dads meet the health needs of their family naturally with simple first aid tools. They have carefully designed an innovative first aid kit, the Basic First Aid NaturoKit, in a perfect traveling pack filled with natural first aid remedies which provides parents with the resources and confidence to handle common accidents and inquiries.

When several friends were raving about this kit to me on multiple occasions, I knew I just had to check them out. Low and behold I discovered that NaturoKits was based here in Portland, OR and all the tinctures are compiled from herbs and supplies grown and developed locally. Their Basic First Aid NaturoKit is extremely useful. It is perfect for families seeking to meet the health needs of their families in a natural, healthy, eco-concious manner. It includes nine homeopathic, herbal, and other naturopathic remedies which address over 40 first aid situations (burns, bites, cuts, food poisoning, allergic reactions, indigestion, hives, sunburn, anxiety, bruising, etc.), plus complete, clear instructions on use, in a compact, canvas bag. An alphabetical list of conditions is also included which makes it quick and easy to reference when you’re in a hurry. This kit is the perfect companion for your upcoming summer adventures in addition to whenever you might be exposed to problems on the go. For a full complete list of the health issues treatable with this kit, visit NaturoKits. Check out the testimonials as well for more creative solutions.

Today, we are excited to offer one of the Basic First Aid NaturoKits (a value of $68) to one of our readers!

We were just talking about needing to get a first aid kit for our family. This would be great, I didn’t realize there was such a thing available to buy. We ahve five young children so the Herbal salve would be used greatly but we would also use the one for bug bites as our eight year old son reacts to mosquitos.

I would definitely like to try out the arnica. My daughter plays roller derby and ends up with bruises and muscle soreness and I think the arnica would be especially beneficial.

For those who have made comments on wanting something for stings, plantain works wonderful. You can make a pultice or a tincture and put it right on the sting. It works within minutes. Hornets stung my husband three times last year and the swelling and pain was gone within seven or so minutes. The plantain has properties that draw the poisins out.

I’ve read some stuff about activated charcoal on bulkherbstore.com and have been wanting to get some since I have a five, three and one-year-old. I could have used it several times already! Thanks for all the great information; I enjoy the quick break I get when reading this blog.

I would probably most often use the Calendula Succus for cuts and scrapes. I have three very active little boys, so we end up with a lot of scrapes around here!

The Arnica is definitely intriguing to me! My husband has been really suffering from a muscle pull lately, and I’ve been searching for things to help him… never thought about Arnica!

  17. sarah kobeski February 8, 2011 at 10:57 am #

so neat! i have recently purchased arnica (both topical application and oral tablets) and have been pleasantly surprised at the effectiveness. i would be most interested in the Wild Weed salve. (also became a fan on FB).

I have used homeopathic remedies such as these for years. I am a firm believer in natural rememdies. I would use the wild weed salve first because I haven’t used one like that before. My husband gets very red eyelids and cheeks in the winter because of the dryness. I’d try it on him.

  19. Laura February 8, 2011 at 10:47 am #

I’m very interested in learning more about homeopathics. I’ve used them some, but I’d love to do more with my children. Great idea!

Anything that helps with scrapes, cuts, and muscles soreness is a perk for our family! I guess that is the downside to being active. We have made a lot of progress in the last year of natural eating and budget/environmentally friendly cleaning, and making this advance in the health arena would be great!

At this time, “Crisis Calm” is most needed for mommy, “Wild Weed Salve” for baby! There has been a lot of worry and stress as a result of cancer in our extended family, and poor baby has a sensitive bum!

Hypericum 30C I would be interested if this works well for a pinched nerve in the neck after sleeping on it wrong.

  38. Brandi T. February 7, 2011 at 9:13 pm #

Arnica is hands-down the most useful remedy in our household. Since I have a two-year-old and care for an almost one-year-old in my home, Arnica is quite handy for all the bumps and bruises that tend to happen between the two littles.

  50. RebeccaK February 7, 2011 at 6:26 pm #

“Crisis Calm” sounds like what we need. . . we’ve had a stressful few months and something to naturally calm anxiety sounds wonderful!
