The Cozy Bunny Giveaway!

PictureThanks to  The Cozy Bunny for your sponsorship of Passionate Homemaking for the month of March!

The Cozy Bunny sells high quality natural wool mommy and baby products including wool blankets, diapers, changing pads, crib bumpers, and so much more.

They are offering a small wool puddle pad (size 18” x 27”, $14.99 value) to one lucky winner this week! What’s a puddle pad? Here’s their description:

“Our wool puddle pads are very functional & versatile. No need for the plastic puddle pad to lay under your baby, just use a wool one instead.
But won’t it get dirty? Well, yes, but if it gets wet, simply let air dry & if it gets soiled, just spray off, use soap if needed. Very easy & best of all, wool is very absorbent & antimicrobial, so it won’t get smelly. They have many uses; cover your lap, floor, shoulder, wherever your baby’s little booty happens to be.”

Sounds like an excellent alternative to those plastic diaper bag changing pads!

I’d put it about 5 inches above my baby’s head when she’s lying on the floor being changed. Since her favorite thing to do is to lift her little bum and scoot upwards, she should land on puddle pad just in time.

I was just looking at the nursing pillow on her site. My second is due in 8 days, so I would have plenty of uses for a puddle pad! I used a similar thing myself for nursing leaking overnight. So a second could always come in handy.

I would use this in my doggie’s kennel! I am constantly washing blankets and pillows because she ‘leaks.’ I would be excited to try it!

I’m a first time Mommie (due date is today!) and I would love to try this product.

Oooh I love wool! It is a toss up between using it on the changing table or in the crib but I’m leaning towards the crib!

I am done having my own babies, but I would love one to give to my sister-in-law who is due with her first child soon!

Too awesome! We are ECing, so I would totally have that around and under my little guy wherever we go!

This could have so many great uses. Air time for diaper rashes. Changing pad. Under me an baby while co sleeping. I could also use it as a mattress pad under my six year old. She’s diabetic and when she goes high in the night she tends to wet the bed. (she’s a super heavy sleeper and high blood sugars are what makes diabetics pee a lot). So versatile!

I’d use it as my primary diaper changing station. My family doesn’t have a changing table or anything like that, so we use a portable plastic pad. What a blessing it would be to be gifted this item!

I’d love to use one of these instead of the bulky changing pad in our diaper bag, and for some “air time” during naps!

  15. Jayna Mar 31, 2010 at 6:49 pm #

with 4 little ones, we need one of these:)

  16. serina Mar 31, 2010 at 4:59 pm #

i would use this as a moveable changing pad on my bed (which is where i end up changing the baby most times).

  17. Megan Mar 31, 2010 at 2:25 pm #

I would love to use this for my baby while camping!

  18. Emily Mar 31, 2010 at 2:06 pm #

I love wool and want to use it more. One thing I know I would use it for is “air time” I am always nervous about that, it just runs everywhere on plastic!

I’m expecting my first this summer and would love to use this as a changing pad, or mattress pad for nighttime cloth leaks! :)

  20. Rachel Mar 31, 2010 at 7:16 am #

I love the idea of using it for air time! I was also thinking of keeping it under baby and for night time use (changes &/or feedings) while co-sleeping.

  21. abbi Mar 31, 2010 at 7:12 am #

I would put it in my hope chest. Thanks for the giveaway!

What a great giveaway! A puddle pad on top of the sheet is a great way to keep newborn “leaky messes” off the sheet.

  23. Andrea Mar 31, 2010 at 6:08 am #

This would be perfect for our baby’s bassinet- our baby will be here June 2, so I’m still in the stages of getting everything here and organized!

  24. Jennifer H. Mar 31, 2010 at 5:47 am #

I would give this to my dear sister-in-law, who is having her first baby in July! She’s very eco-friendly and would love this!

  25. Kellie Mar 31, 2010 at 5:37 am #

I’d love to win this wool changing pad. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I love to lay my little ones on this kind of pad while they sun their little bums to cure any diaper irritations.

I live in Germany and have not been able to find a waterproof mattress pad to fit our German-size crib. I have been using something similar to this under the regular sheet, but it’s made with plastic I’m assuming–this would be so much better!

I also like the idea of using it under the baby for “air-time” (diaperless time to help with rash) or simply as a changing pad.

While I’m on the subject, do you have any tips for diaper rashes? My baby has recently had a bit of a problem with pimply looking spots on his hips (about the place where the diapers fasten) and butt cheeks. It seems after 6 months of almost perfect baby bottom skin, he is getting these rashes from wearing a diaper all night. Right around the time I’m hoping he starts sleeping through the night! We use BumGenius diapers with 3 layers of inserts at night, if it helps to know.

Check out my homemade diaper salve recipe. Sounds like you have a yeast infection and this salve is the perfect natural solution. You will also want to use disposables until the infection is completely gone. You will have to strip your diapers so the yeast does not continue to multiply in them. Lastly, after you get rid of the rash, you might want to use disposables at night. We did that with my first daughter because she was more prone to rashes when in the diaper all night long.
