Celestial Seasonings Wellness Kit Giveaway!

As the height of cold and flu “season” continues, many of us are may be getting very weary of trying this or that different method. We have certainly had our share of cold, fevers and sour throats this year but have been blessed by the warm and healing powers of herbal teas as one of our natural remedies. I have found warm herbal teas to be so comforting to a stressed and tired immune system. When our bodies are relaxed and refreshed in this way, they are given the ability to heal properly.

In the spirit of getting well naturally, Celestial Seasonings has created a “natural wellness kit” which they sent me for my review and would like to offer another kit for one lucky reader to put to the “sniffle” test! I was delighted with the contents of this kit. Six different delicious herbal teas are included in this kit for the basic sicknesses that may pervade your home. These wellness teas are blended to address specific ailments including a sore throat and upset stomach.

The Celestial Seasonings Natural Wellness Kit (worth $60) includes:
• Four wellness teas to ease  symptoms associated with the cold and flu including Sleepytime Extra, Echinacea Complete Care and Tummy Mint
• Two green teas to support a healthy immune system year round – Authentic Green Tea and Honey Lemon Ginseng Green Tea
• Mug, soothing lip balm, honey sticks and Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Bear (which Karis absolutely loves!) and the book “Herbs for Health and Happiness” by Celestial Seasonings founder Mo Siegel and Nancy Burke, which includes a thorough de-briefing of many powerful herbs.

We have been thoroughly enjoying the flavors and healing powers of these herbal combinations and can highly recommend them to you all.

For additional wellness information, check out Celestial Seasoning for unique resources and videos to educate you about how to ease cold and flu symptoms naturally, with teas, herbs and other foods.

    This is awesome!!

I absolutely love elderberry syrup for cold and flu season. It has worked wonders for us!

  2. Nicole Mar 17, 2010 at 5:24 am #

My favorite natural healing tip would have to be SLEEP! Seems too simple maybe, but that is when your body can put all of it’s energy into healing. Our culture is so rushed, we try to use medications to keep ourselves productive or so that we can go to work, but really if we would just let our bodies rest and sleep our cold or flu would pass more quickly. So have some tea – then go to sleep! :)

  4. Alisha Mar 17, 2010 at 5:23 am #

We use native honey like crazy. A teaspoon of honey every morning in our breakfast (or by itself!) and we aren’t having allergy issues like we have in the past!

  5. CW Mar 17, 2010 at 5:21 am #

We make mullein oil to take care of earaches. A few drop very hour or so really helps, and it doesn’t have the smell that garlic oil has.

Thanks for doing this giveaway. The tea looks great.

Hi Thank you for your blog, I look forward to it everyday. My cure tip is when feeling a bit run down I drink yarrow tea, it helps to get you up and running again. I also use a sauna, they call it the poor mans doctor.
Looking forward to hearing what other reader do as well. I also did my mom’s journal with your recommendation’s and I feel more organized already.
Happy Spring. I have a three month old daughter Sarah that has changed my husband and my life. We are truly blessed!!!

What a terrific kit! Thank you for the chance to win! My favorite thing to do when fighting a cold is drink plenty of water and use eucalyptus oil in a steam to help the congestion.

  9. Connie Mar 17, 2010 at 5:11 am #

I love a spoonful of honey for sore throats.

    What a lovely prize!

hummmm tea such a cute giveaway

  12. Kelly Mar 17, 2010 at 5:10 am #

Well, I am not sure if it is exactly a healing tip, but I find that whenever I am sick, a nice long steamy shower helps me to feel better. I don’t even wash up, just stand in the warm water and let it beat on my back and chest. It feels like it breaks up some of the congestion. And of course, the steam is always good for clearing out my head.

  13. Becky Mar 17, 2010 at 4:58 am #

My favorite natural remedy is honey for coughs – kids (over 1) and adults.

  14. Sarah M Mar 17, 2010 at 4:57 am #

  18. Amanda Mar 17, 2010 at 4:43 am #

This is an amazing giveaway!!! Around here, we are big on REST…lots of REST when one is ill. Herbal tea, homemade soup, snuggling, and a good movie are always a plus too!

Lots of water and vitamin C. Pretty basic, but it seems to work! Thanks for another great give away!

  20. melinda Mar 17, 2010 at 4:41 am #

teas, garlic and goldenseal…. usually do the trick around here! Oh and if not, we use Dr. Christophers Anti-Plauge. Which oddly enough some of my A’s think is so good, it’s like candy!!!!

  21. Kim Mar 17, 2010 at 4:38 am #

When I was pregnant I downed A LOT of tea! Red raspberry leaf to prepare my body for birth and chamomile every night for my continuous heartburn. The tea worked better than Tums!

  22. lauren white Mar 17, 2010 at 4:30 am #

We do lots of teas around here as well – they are warm and comforting with a touch of honey. We also boost Emergen C’s during illness. And my favorite way to heal is lots of rest. I believe it’s the body’s best way to fight off pathogens. Thanks for the contest, Lindsay.

  23. slawebb Mar 17, 2010 at 4:27 am #

I love elderberry tincture. This stuff kicks illness in the butt quickly! And I’m talking 1 or 2 doses if you start taking it when you think you might be getting sick. And only taking it for a couple of days when you are already sick. Plus it has honey and echinacea in it. Great stuff!

  28. dorapug Mar 17, 2010 at 4:16 am #

This is an awesome kit! My favorite natural healing tip is to make and take advantage of down time to heal – body and spirit. Resting and reading with a good mug of tea, love it!

  29. Jill Mar 17, 2010 at 4:12 am #

I would love to win this kit! We drink lots of herbal teas just because we like the flavors. I am not very familiar with the different healing properties of certain herbs. I’d love to learn more and test out the teas for certain alinements.

  30. Jackie Mar 17, 2010 at 4:04 am #

Great giveaway! I use garlic when I am feeling sick. Also, honey and lemon juice are great when I have a cough or sore throat.

  31. KT Mar 17, 2010 at 3:54 am #

My favorite natural healing tip is one your mother, your grandmother, and on back might have used – homemade chicken soup for colds. I love the way it makes you feel better, at least for a little while. Plus it’s made with love!

  32. Valerie Kirkland Mar 17, 2010 at 3:53 am #

  34. Valerie Kirkland Mar 17, 2010 at 3:52 am #

My favorite healing tip is eating lots of clementines as well as soup stocks. I think they just keep up the immune system and I can also see since we have switched to coconut oil as our oil of choice we have not gotten sick when everyone else around us has!!! Thanks for all of your posts!!

  35. Nikki Mar 17, 2010 at 3:48 am #

We would love to win this as colds seem to be coming and going and coming again this year.We usually try to drink a warm cup of water with some lemon juice, a little honey and a dash of cayenne pepper. It is good for clearing a stuffy head.

  36. Kathleen Mar 17, 2010 at 3:47 am #

My favorite tip? Get enough sleep!

  37. Sandy Mar 17, 2010 at 3:41 am #

    What a neat idea!

    Favorite natural healing tip:
    Garlic.

I have been using garlic to build the immune system and fight off things since I read about it in James Duke’s , The Green Pharmacy. Amazing stuff! I put it through a garlic press, hand chop or use a mortar and pestle and take it by the spoon just like medicine as needed.
It also works well steeped in broth and sipped that way without actually eating it.

  38. Heidi Crawford Mar 17, 2010 at 3:30 am #

My favorite tip is to use a spoonful of buckwheat honey to calm a cough instead of cough syrup.

  39. Mrs. Money Mar 17, 2010 at 3:29 am #

My healing tip is to make sure you get enough “good” bacteria to keep your immune system happy!

I love Celestial Seasonings. I toured the factory last year and wanted to work there. :)

  40. Lani Q Mar 17, 2010 at 3:27 am #

This sounds great. We often use mint tea to help with upset tummies, and take some honey for sore throats and coughs. I am seeking to learn more about healing herbs, I absolutely love using natural methods for my family’s health.

  41. Sarah Mar 17, 2010 at 3:10 am #

One of my first memories is sitting under the ironing board while my mother sealed her hoemmade tea into bags with the iron. Tea has always been one of my first soltions to ailments. A headache needs a cup hot black tea (the caffeine constricts blood vessels in your brain and takes off the pressure that causes pain) and an upset tummy needs peppermint tea. I am so happy to see two of my favorite things together: your blog and herbal tea.

My favorite wellness tip is to avoid getting sick by getting some fresh air and sunshine everyday. That isn’t always easy due to the weather, but I’ve seen the difference it makes in my health to get my natural vitamin D. Studies are showing getting that vitamin D helps your systems work better. I know it works for me.

  44. emily Mar 17, 2010 at 3:00 am #

This looks fabulous! One of my favorite health tips is I mix colloidal silver and breastmilk together and when my kids nose are a bit runny I squirt it up their noses! It always makes their runny nose go right away!

  45. Elisa Mar 17, 2010 at 2:50 am #

My favorite natural healing tip: sickness thrives in an acidic body, so as soon as you start feeling any sign of sickness, go crazy on drinking lemonade and water. And no sugar or grains! Those have a tendency to make a person acidic. This has worked wonders for me and I haven’t been sick at all in the last 40 weeks (I’m now at the end of a pregnancy)!

  46. Jessica Mar 17, 2010 at 2:43 am #

I love using honey to sooth a cough or sore throat. And we love making tea to help calm us when we are sick. We have never used any medications for our children. There is such a wealth of information available about all the alternatives to medications, even for little ones!!

  47. JenniferK Mar 17, 2010 at 2:42 am #

We love Celestial teas! They are affordable and readily available. We keep the echinacea, wellness formula and sleepy time in stock.

  48. Linda Mar 17, 2010 at 2:15 am #

My favourite natural healing tip is…. garlic!

If you’re feeling under the weather, simply eat a large amount of it. It almost works like an antibiotic and kills off many bad germs! :)
