Celestial Seasonings Wellness Kit Giveaway!

As the height of cold and flu “season” continues, many of us are may be getting very weary of trying this or that different method. We have certainly had our share of cold, fevers and sour throats this year but have been blessed by the warm and healing powers of herbal teas as one of our natural remedies. I have found warm herbal teas to be so comforting to a stressed and tired immune system. When our bodies are relaxed and refreshed in this way, they are given the ability to heal properly.

In the spirit of getting well naturally, Celestial Seasonings has created a “natural wellness kit” which they sent me for my review and would like to offer another kit for one lucky reader to put to the “sniffle” test! I was delighted with the contents of this kit. Six different delicious herbal teas are included in this kit for the basic sicknesses that may pervade your home. These wellness teas are blended to address specific ailments including a sore throat and upset stomach.

The Celestial Seasonings Natural Wellness Kit (worth $60) includes:
• Four wellness teas to ease  symptoms associated with the cold and flu including Sleepytime Extra, Echinacea Complete Care and Tummy Mint
• Two green teas to support a healthy immune system year round – Authentic Green Tea and Honey Lemon Ginseng Green Tea
• Mug, soothing lip balm, honey sticks and Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Bear (which Karis absolutely loves!) and the book “Herbs for Health and Happiness” by Celestial Seasonings founder Mo Siegel and Nancy Burke, which includes a thorough de-briefing of many powerful herbs.

We have been thoroughly enjoying the flavors and healing powers of these herbal combinations and can highly recommend them to you all.

For additional wellness information, check out Celestial Seasoning for unique resources and videos to educate you about how to ease cold and flu symptoms naturally, with teas, herbs and other foods.

My biggest tip is to drink water. It helps with so many things…weight loss, dehydration, clear skin, upset tummy……the list goes on!

My favorite thing is an onion poultice before bed for chest congestion/coughs. My daughter fell asleep with it on her chest and no coughing the whole night! YAY!

I’ve been mixing a little bit of tea tree oil with coconut oil to help heal minor cuts and scrapes. It even seems to be help acne blemishes go away faster.

My family loves the products sold on Beeyoutiful’s website. Our favorite is Berry Well which is bee propolis, echinachea, apple cider vinegar, and elderberry. At the first sign of a sore throat, sniffles, or cough we take a dose. It’s great!

Homemade chicken bone broth is my favorite recipe for wellness!

My favorite tip is just to sleep and destress-try to give yourself a break from everything physically and mentally and heal. Much easier said than done though!

I have had good luck with the apple cider vinegar and honey concoction you suggest for allergies. I think it is good for all kinds of things!

I love Celestial Seasonings. I used to live in Denver and have toured their factory just outside of Boulder a few times. It’s such a relaxing place – I love it there.

Tea is my remedy for everything!

I make my own from ginger, lemon juice and sage or peppermint, then add honey and cayenne pepper.
It got me through a long throat infection!

I take apple cider vinegar at the first sign of any illness. I hate the taste (and the stinging acidity), but I feel it is so worth it!

My favorite natural healing tip is chicken soup with homemade chicken stock. Loaded with garlic, onion, and fresh herbs and veggies…it’s nutrient rich and sooooo refreshing when you’re all stuffed up.

We love tea! My husband swears by his neti-pot. He used to get a lot of sinus infections, but since using this tool, he has had none! Hard to get used to at first, but it really works!

  18. Elise March 22, 2010 at 9:47 am #

My favorite *natural* wellness tip is our immune-booster tincture (herbs from http://www.bulkherbstore.com) Half glycerine, half vodka, two weeks in a dark place… we got used to it very quickly, and now even the baby opens his mouth for a few drops when cold season begins!

    Thank you for this!

I say hand washing is the best tip I have. It works wonders!

  20. Lori March 21, 2010 at 8:42 pm #

For a sore throat the best thing I’ve found is a couple cloves of garlic and a glass of kombucha. I chew the garlic up (yes, it’s rather icky!!) and then wash it down with the kombucha (which eliminates the taste and soothes the sore throat).

My family loves the medicinal teas! Recently tension tamer helped my stuffy head, when I had a cold.

We love Celestial Seasonings teas with coconut oil stirred in! It gives the tea a rich, satisfying flavor, boosts the wellness factor with it’s anti-viral properties and has the added bonus of keeping your lips moist and smooth!!

    • Melody Joy March 22, 2010 at 12:32 pm #

ooh, that’s a good tip. My lips get so chapped when I have a cold!

  23. Ellen Blanchard March 21, 2010 at 6:40 pm #

Hey! I came across your blog and I love it! I want a chance of winning the give away, . Somethings that help me with my sinus issues are to: ear candle my ears, drink tons of water, eat lots of garlic, squirt saline salution up my nose to flush out allergens and to get to bed early if possible.

  24. Leanne March 21, 2010 at 6:40 pm #

I’ve used Celestial Seasonings wellness tea — especially when I have a sore throat. The licorice in it helps that a lot.

For fighting the flu this year, my 3 year old and I both had success with a elderflower, licorice, ginger and peppermint tea — and it worked wonders with the fever, too!

Sleep is of course great, too — but as the mother of a toddler, … .

  25. Suyai March 21, 2010 at 4:32 pm #

Pick me, pls! I could surely use some help to relax at night!

  26. Judi March 21, 2010 at 3:59 pm #

I don’t know much about natural cures, but am very willing to learn. I’ve used some of Celestial tea products before and would like to try a larger variety, while learning at the same time.

activated charcoal is great for diarrhea, as is valerian root. We also use the chamomile tea for coughing, breathing problems.

  28. Dawn March 21, 2010 at 1:59 pm #

A really hot shower! I start slowly and let the hot water “melt” whatever yucky-ness has me stuffed up. Wash your face really well with a natural soap, massaging with a washcloth, remembering to gently do right below and behind your ears and your sinuses. I find this stimulates the nerves and helps me feel like the blood is flowing again! Also, when I am sick I spend a lot of time resting and finding peace in the Lord. Homemade chicken noodle soup is a blessing too!

Thank you for your inspirational blog. I love that you always make Jesus the center of your home!

La La Love Celestial Seasonings. So looking forwward to touring their plant in Boulder on our summer vacation this year!

  30. Valerie March 21, 2010 at 4:56 am #

When I am feeling sick I spend the day in my robe on the couch. I am either napping or watching a mellow show on tv while sipping some hot tea.

  31. Leah Mick March 21, 2010 at 12:03 am #

Lysine! It works wonders when I’m sick or fill like I’m getting sick…along with oregano oil. Lysine is also great for cold sores. Ha! I’m saying all this while I have a cold! Yes…I should have taken Lysine! I still should!

  32. Sarah March 20, 2010 at 9:34 pm #

My neti-pot works wonders. Being in University, I would get a cold and not be able to take a rest to get better – then become so rundown I’d be sick for weeks on end. Using the neti-pot right when I first get a tickle in my throat really makes a huge difference!

  33. Jess March 20, 2010 at 9:17 pm #

Garlic power all the way when cold and flu season hits. Nothing beats it.

  34. Jessica March 20, 2010 at 4:09 pm #

I usually eat lots of greens when I’m sick. A helpful meal of vegan potato/kale/garlic soup seems to do the trick rather quickly.

  35. Rochelle March 20, 2010 at 1:04 pm #

Sleep! When I’m feeling run down, getting a good night of sleep can do wonders!
