Soap Nuts are an incredible green/natural product that continues to fascinate me the more I learn. God supplied us with a fruit from His creation that cleans our laundry with no additives! It grows on trees! Just a simple dried nut placed in a small bag and thrown into your laundry! I am in awe of how He beautifully supplies all we need without any harsh chemicals.
Soap Nuts clean effectively without the addition of softeners. 100% natural, chemical-free, frangrance-free, biodegradable and hypoallergenic. Extremely low cost per load! I love how you can convert these soap nuts into a liquid detergent or a powder detergent or just use as they are – whatever method you prefer. Soap nuts are definitely the most natural and frugal laundry detergent option on the market!
Read more about them in my previous post here.
NaturOli has donated twenty 5-load sample packs of their soap nuts to giveaway to our readers! Horray! Now you can have an opportunity to try out this wonderful product. So we will have 20 winners on this one!
I have tried two different brands of soap nuts, Maggie’s Soap Nuts & NaturOli. I cannot even compare the two. Maggie’s are packaged overseas whereas NaturOli’s are carefully inspected and packaged in the States (without any plastic, I should add). Maggie’s came to me all sticky in a plastic bag, with some broken, chipped nuts, whereas NaturOli’s were beautifully dried and carefully selected. No stickiness whatsoever thus a far superior product. Another bonus…NaturOli’s are more reasonably priced!
This sample pack includes enough soap nuts for approximately 5 loads, a small wash bag, and an 8 page introduction & instruction pamphlet.

I “stumbled” across your website when I forgot the diaper rash cream one day (and it was one of the rare days I needed it!). I’ve been blessed by your site since then. I’d come across soap nuts previously. I was intrigued but at the time couldn’t look into them more. I’m excited to give them a try. Maybe I’ll even be a winner in your contest.
I’d love to try these! Thanks!
Thank you, Lindsay for the give away. Pleae put my name. I’ve wanted to give soap nuts a try.
I would love to try these…thanks for the great giveaway and the great blog!
Thanks for the give-away! The more simple things like laundry are, the less it’s overwhelming. Even though the homemade soap is simple, soap nuts are so much more so
I’m always excited to read you blog, and the many healthful ideas you have for our homes. Count me in on this sample giveaway!
I’ve heard of soap nuts before. Thanks for all the info on them. I wasn’t sure they were legit.
I should’ve known that God would know that we would need these some day for washing machines!! He does know all! I can’t wait to try these!! Thanks!

I’d love to win some of these. My husband brought some home as a sample he was given at work (he does research and development for natural and organic products for a food retailer). We’d never heard of them before then, but were intrigued and very pleased with how well they cleaned. I’d LOVE to have some more.
This would be a great way to try these out! Thank you very much.
Thanks for the post! I just checked them out on the NaturOli site and you can buy a 16 oz. package on sale for only 18.95. The cost per load would be around 11 cents! Can’t beat that!

I am really excited about trying these out, they look amazing!
I’d really like to try these.
Yiipppeee, yip yip yippppeeee!! Thanks a latte for the giveaway! We just bought our first (and last) home so I am able to have my family’s things readily available (instead of in storage) and homemade! Also, my hubby and son have sensitive skin (hubby had many allergies/eczema as a kid) so we are always looking for pure, natural soaps, food, etc.
Thanks again Lindsay, your site is a wealth of information and a blessing to our family!
Thanks for the giveaway! I have been wanting to try these.
I am always looking for new ‘green’ items for our home.
My husband just gave me a very skeptical look when I read him your post. I’d love to prove him wrong – and find a frugal, natural, hypo-allergenic laundry detergent!
And I just heard today that we live in the same city (mutual friend). Love knowing that you can do all these frugal-green activities here in suburbia. Gives me even more inspiration.
I have never heard of such a thing but it sounds awesome! I will definately try these out. Thanks so much
I’ve thought about trying these for a long time. It helps to see an honest review of them!
I would love to give these a try on my husband’s sweaty dress shirts!
This is exactly what I have been looking for…can’t wait to try it!
I am new to your blog and have been on here any chance I can get. I love all the wonderful recipes and suggestions for being more environmentally aware. I would love to try a sample of soap nuts; this is the firswt time I have ever heard about them on your blog.
I just found your blog and am loving it!!! Thanks Bunches…
My skin is very sensitive and I can’t find anything yet that works for my laundry.
I would love to try a sample of these soap nuts!!!
Lindsay –
Thanks for all your research on the Soap Nuts. I’m very intrigued. I recently tried making my own dish washing and laundry detergent due to the harsh chemicals found in most store bought. My husband didn’t like the “smell” of the laundry detergent. Maybe he won’t mind the Soap Nuts. Thanks to NaturOli for the donating the giveaway!
I would love to try these. Thanks for the great giveaway.
I have been wanting to try these and would love to win a sample! – Joy
Oh! I am going to have to try these! Thanks so much for the info!
So, I am curious- do you use this with cloth diapers, too? And it has no fragrance? (I have to confess, I really like a bit of nice smell.
Yes, I do use them for our diapers. They don’t have a distinct smell but they definitely smell fresh. You can actually put some essential oil on a washcloth to add fragrance. Just throw it in with the wash.
I want to try these!!
These would be great to try!
These look like a great alternative! Thanks for the great info!
Would love to give them a try!
thanks for the giveaway..this really intrigues me as I am slowly learning to be green.
I’m new to your blog, but it looks like a treasure trove of info (if slightly overwhelming!). these soap nuts are intriguing–I’d love to win some to try out!
Hmmm…I am very intrigued. Thanks for the give-away
Right after you posted about these, I saw a bag at my local Whole Foods! It was about $20 for a bag. I decided to buy them after I run out of my current detergent. I’d love to win a sample!
will definitely be trying these!
