I found this website on "Kelly the Kitchen Kop" and was amazed at all of the great information on cosmetics (I was horrified that the majority of my cosmetics were considered "hazerdous"!). I didn't see the Organic Wear mascara, but there were other Organic Wear products listed.

May I also offer another suggestion for paraben-free mascara?
It is from Shaklee, and they offer all natural make-up as well.
Not only that but it is clinically tested, pH balanced, hypoallergenic and more. The whole skin care line is protected by 8 patents!

I know that the PF organic line has not been tested by the Skin Deep Database currently. They only show the regular PF brand. It may not be the best natural mascara, but it is a huge improvement over the Maybelline mascara that is popular (and I used formally) which is a #7 on the database. I personally don't follow the database very much, as it has such mixed evaluations of different companies...you really have to know the company or talk with them personally to get all the true facts.

I checked EWG's Skin Deep Database, and the ingredients is a level 4, moderate hazard. It is not the same ingredient as in antiperspirants, but all the aluminum chemicals for antiperspirants are listed as level 3-4 as well. ??? "Neurotoxicity" never sounds fun, but it's hard to tell what an "acceptable risk" might be. Do you have a risk level that you consider safe at the EWG site? Thanks!

Do you know for sure this is the same kind of aluminum that is found in deodorants? I would recommend calling the company to confirm your findings before you discard them completely. Just a thought.

I am surprised you only tried it once. I found that just like most natural products there is a bit of an adjustment period. The first day it left little smudges under my eyes, but it has not done it since. I think I got used to the idea and didn't rub my eyes! ;) It did not go on any more clumpy than the standard brand of Maybelline that I had been using formally. Just so you know...Ecco Bella has parabens! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I got this the other day and wore it yesterday for the first time. I thought it went on clumpy, which I didn't like, and kind of gave the spidery eyelash effect. It wore off throughout the day and left smudges under my eyes. Also, while we were eating dinner that contained onions, my eyes got really burny and watery, so I thought it was the onions. But later at night I was reading a post that made me cry, and my eyes started ON FIRE from the mascara. So much that I had to go and wash it off immediately. I've never had that happen with a mascara, and I've used many. Needless to say, it got returned today.
Thumbs down.
Going back to my Ecco Bella or Dr. Hauschka. It was worth a try, though.
Congrats on your new sweet baby, by the way!

I just started using mary kay mineral make-up, and I have oily skin. My experience, I had to stop using it, because I had a reaction to it. I don't know if it was the minerals or if I'm ultra-sensitive. I'll be safe and say the latter. I've also had terrible dry cheeks, which I have some dry facial skin in the winter, but this is especially dry.

I'm a bit leary about trying another brand at this point. Especially since mineral make-up isn't the cheapest!
