I am looking to add further articles, resources and recommendations, so if you have written or come across a good article on a topic relevant to the categories listed, please do send it my way!

Secondly, I updated my Blogroll and added a tab in the top navigation. You will find a whole list of helpful blogs out there that write on topics of natural living. I have also listed my favorite Christian inspirational blogs. If you link to my blog or have a helpful blog to recommend that I add, please let me know.

    Hi Lindsey,
I have just stumbled upon your blog recently and have really enjoyed. We are a young family 17mth old girl and Baby #2 due mid April, I have been wanting to switch to more natural healthy alternatives for my family and you have helped out a lot. Thanks A couple of questions if you don’t mind what kind of moisturizer do you use on your daughter? Do you use the Coconut Oil on her as well as yourself. The unrefined Coconut Oil that you use is that for cooking and moisturizer or do you get the unrefined and refined? Last question is about the Dr Bronners liquid soap that you mentioned I know you said you would like to switch to the liquid so you could use it for more things would you still buy it in the baby formula or would you keep your daughter on the bar soap? Sorry for so many rambling questions as you can see I am very new at this. I have switched all my cleaners over to your recommendations and have had great success, Thanks!!

Shelby, Welcome! First off, I do use coconut oil for a moisturizer/lotion for all of us. It is wonderful. I keep it simple by using the unrefined coconut oil for both cooking and body uses, since it retains all the nutrients, but you can purchase the cheaper refined version just for body use, if desired. We also use Dr. Bronner’s liquid soap for bathing. I have made our homemade shampoo with it (using the Baby Mild version) and use that for all of us. You can read more about that here. For our little one, I have used it as a shampoo and soap, and simply apply with a wash cloth, keeping it really easy. My husband prefers a bar of soap, so we will use the bars for ourselves. Hope that makes sense! Blessings!
