Frugally Re-using Greenery

My neighbor inspired me with this cute idea. Rather than throwing out her old wreath from last year, she kept it and reused it this year. Her wreath was actually real greenery. Yes, it was a bit dried out. Her solution? Spray paint it and hang a few cute ornaments on it! Looks brand new! What a great way to get a new and fresh look to any decor item whether real or artificial! I might just keep my Christmas tree around till next year and spray paint it! ;)

That’s why we buy artificial trees! Think of all the money you would save. We bought a new 7 1/2′ tree at the end of the season last year for $49.99, pre-lit too! Our old one was getting kinda shabby. So this year we have a brand new tree!

I’m impressed that the needles stayed on over the summer!

It looks like it stayed remarkably well. That is very clever and looks quite nice!

It’s not exactly a bad idea. It’s certainly a creative one but I feel I should add one word of caution- dead pine needles, trees, and the like are EXTREMELY flammable. That’s just one reason many shared living dwellings refuse to allow live trees and wreaths at Christmas time, my own apartment being one of them. The other reason of course is that they shed… a lot.
