Lindsay,

Thanks for the recipe! I am getting ready to make it, and the soup sounds delicious. I have a question however, is it true about what the lady is saying on the first post on this page? The part about adding baking soda to the tomatoes? I am going to make this for a long time to come and I would like to know if this is true? I am not a chef just a college student who loves to cook at home. Thank you for your time in advance,
Shane Meyer

Thanks so much for sharing your recipe. I've been looking for a yummy made-from-scratch tomato soup and this is one I will definitely try today. I love you photo with you and your children at top. Very beautiful!

Thanks for the recipe! I used 1/2c soy milk & 1/2c water instead of the 1c chicken broth, because I am a vegan. I loved it!

Great recipe! I've made it twice this week! I add a little soy milk to each bowl (because I can't have dairy while I'm breastfeeding since the little one is allergic). Delicious!

I made this last week, and it was fantastic! I used one large can of crushed tomatoes and added some half & half at the end. Served with grilled cheese, it is a perfect lunch for my husband and I (and I don't normally like tomato soup)! Thanks for the recipe!

You can use any sweetener as desired. I try to stick with natural sweeteners at our house. Rapadura is a natural whole cane sugar. You can learn more about it here.
