I want to express my appreciation for all my wonderful supportive readers and your lovely comments and congrats to our recent family news! It has meant so much to us, especially as I don’t even know many of you…what a special blessing! I will be sure to keep you posted as the pregnancy progresses…but for now…I need to go take a nap!

Hi! I just wanted to say congrats on your new blessing! I just found out I am also expecting my second child and will be due at the begining of March! It’s funny because 2 of the other blogs I frequent are also expecting! Blogland is so fun! Blessings, Jennifer
Congrats!! I am so happy for you and your family!
I am hoping to be joining you as well – Lord willing!
Yea! Congratulations on your news! I’m really excited for you! God bless you!
…me again, one more thing…I just wanted to thank you for everything you have posted on this site. I have been very encouraged in so many ways and I am very thankful that I found Passionate Homemaking!
Hey there! I saw your pregnancy post just a bit after you posted it, and I forgot to comment on it, sorry.
CONGRATULATIONS! I have been reading your blog for couple of weeks now…I can’t believe I haven’t left you a comment…
Anyway, I just wanted to congratulate you!
I am hoping for another baby soon! It’s kind of funny…you were married 1 month before me and you had your baby 1 month before me. Hehe.
Oh – and I was wondering if you had any 1 year old meal ideas you could pass along. My baby is not very picky, but I am having a hard time with what to feed him and how much at a time?
I didn’t mean to get so off topic, just throwin’ it out there!
Congrats again! God Bless!
~Melissa
Melissa-
I was able to glean a lot of fun food ideas for our little one from this book:
I’d love to see if Lindsay has some other suggestions, though.
Congratulations, again, Lindsay!
Blessings,
Michele
Oops- sorry, the title got left out! It’s “1,2,3, Cook For Me: Over 300 Easy and Healthy Recipes for Babies and Toddlers” by Karin Knight.
Michele
Thank you for sharing, Michele! I will have to check that book out!
Karis is eating a lot of regular food now, which is wonderful. I normally have based my menu by suggestions in the Super Baby Food book. A great resource!
Breakfast is normally a whole grain cereal (brown rice & millet or oats) with applesauce, flax seeds, etc. (read more here). I throw in a hard boiled egg every other day.
Lunch is usually yogurt with various fruit toppings and seeds.
Dinner is again based on another whole grain (maybe more cereal with vegi’s this time) and various vegetables and sometimes beans (if we are having them). She loves bread, frozen peas, corn, cooked beets, carrots, and the like. Avacados are also wonderful. I just try to keep a good balance between protein, carbs, vegi’s and fruit. We just started on peanut butter too!
I love my baby food grinder and blender which mash up any food we might be eating for her too! She loves being a big girl and eating with us!
Hope that helps you Melissa.
Thanks Michele for the book recommendation!
Blessings,
Lindsay
Thank you so much Lindsay! I really appreciate it! I am going to check out the book you suggested!
Oh, goodness, I must have missed the announcement while we were out of town!
Congrats and enjoy those lovely naps.
I hear you on the nap! I just found out that I’m almost 8 weeks along with my first baby, and I am sapped! Actually, that’s what my husband calls the baby right now–”The Sapper.”
