Definitely the bathing suit. It veers the farthest from what it expected, I think, but is still attractive and stylish.

  2. sarina May 27, 2008 at 4:49 pm #

i wish i could afford ct clothes!!!
i say the ct classic swimsuit is “defining” and “signature” because its modest in an area where so many women choose not to be modest – it upholds standards

    CT Classic Swimsuit
    cute, classic & modest

  5. Molly Rogers May 26, 2008 at 7:19 pm #

I absolutely adore the Christa Taylor site! Such cute clothes! I think the swim suit best defines Christa-Taylor because that was Christa’s first design that brought her to start the Christa-Taylor business and shows that girls can be modest and cute – even in a swim suit. Thank you Christa-Taylor for providing adorable and modest clothes for ladies!

  6. Kimberly May 26, 2008 at 6:23 pm #

I think the eyelet Catie dress is the epitome of Christa-Taylor.com– it’s fresh, fun, stylish, and very ladylike. I think this dress is adorable!

  7. Ann at mommysecrets May 26, 2008 at 6:17 pm #

    Good for your sister!!!

I think her dresses are the most defining pieces – I especially like the Marseilles Island Dress.

  8. Beth May 25, 2008 at 7:07 pm #

I would have to say that the swim suit has to be the signature piece. It is modest but at the same time, it’s not “frumpy.” I’ve been looking for a cute and modest swim suit for our upcoming vacation, and they are not easy to come by!

  9. dorothy May 25, 2008 at 5:28 pm #

I have been checking out that adorably cute and modest bathing suit for a couple of weeks and hoping it might somehow find its way into the budget! I just love all of her designs.

  10. Nicole Ross May 25, 2008 at 3:26 pm #

I would say the Swingy McBride Tunic. It is very trendy, and yet is very modest. I think that is what defines Christa-Taylor. BTW…I just found that site and love the clothes. Can’t wait to get paid on Thursday!

I would have to say the swim suit, so modest and cute!

  12. Eryn May 25, 2008 at 12:15 pm #

I love the cafe dress also, and the plum tunic, and the bella tops…I love the mission of CT! do you guys ever have local retail purchasing opportunities?

  13. Marlene May 25, 2008 at 9:39 am #

The white with black piping coat dress is classy, beautiful and fun for summer. It should be the pieces that represents Christa Taylor.

  14. Lisa W. May 24, 2008 at 7:22 pm #

Hi! I have a 15 year old who really likes Christa T. clothes and I like many of them also! I think that the swimsuit is so classy and modest and I would definitely wear it myself. I would love more options in swimsuits if Christa is able to find some–I have five daughters to outfit in modest swimwear!

  15. Lauren May 24, 2008 at 3:14 pm #

I have to say either of the Marseilles Island Dresses. Love them!

I hadn’t even heard of the site before… I think I have a new favorite!

  16. Jenny-Lynn May 24, 2008 at 12:16 pm #

I would have to say the nautical blazer!

  17. tami lewis May 24, 2008 at 8:48 am #

i think the catie dress defines christa taylor. feminine, not fussy and easy. i think of the word cool- meaning breeze-like- when i see these clothes.

  18. Ginny May 23, 2008 at 8:41 pm #

I’m in love with the Light Jersey Tunic, very cute!

  19. Kristi May 23, 2008 at 6:50 pm #

I would say the Ruffled Silk Tunic is a good definition of Christa Taylor, romantic, soft, fashionable and for the everyday woman.

  20. mom2fur May 23, 2008 at 6:20 pm #

Well, I’m probably not in the right age range. But I just wanted to say two things: 1)I thought that girl looked familiar, LOL! All I have to do is look at the “ad” and the pic of your family to see you are sisters!
2)Whaddya know? Modest clothes that are actually cute and stylish instead of shapeless and frumpy! What a concept!

    • Lindsay May 23, 2008 at 8:34 pm #

;) Yes, our model friend, Paige, does look a bit like our family, but it actually isn’t Christa. Sorry for the confusion. Here is our family picture.

  21. Kate May 23, 2008 at 4:34 pm #

I can see Christa in the embroidered skirt. LOVE the red and how it pops! Christa seems like a woman who wants to be trendy, but timeless and modest at the same time.

  22. A. Snodgrass May 23, 2008 at 3:59 pm #

    Lindsay,

I love Christa Taylor clothes. It’s not in our budget to buy anything that isn’t food or gas etc. :) However, I can still appreciate her wonderful sense of style. My faves are the Peruvian Dress and the Yellow Bella Top.\

    Thanks for sharing.

Hello, I have been lurking here for about a week or so. I figured this is a great way to let myself be known! I had no idea that Christa was your sister!

I would say that the Kimono Jacket Dress best represents Christa Taylor. It is so pretty, feminine, and versatile! I think it shows that you can dress beautifully and be modest. You don’t have to dress in a garbage bag to be modest and all the clothing from Christa Taylor proves that!

  24. Leslie May 23, 2008 at 11:32 am #

The Eyelet Catie Dress! Too cute and very feminine:)!

  25. Judy Kay May 23, 2008 at 11:25 am #

I really love the white eyelet catie dress.

  26. Michelle Simons May 23, 2008 at 11:04 am #

What item defines Christa Taylor? Well I have to say the
long beach white bermuda shorts does the trick. as the meaning to me, cool, calm and collected!

  27. Andrea May 23, 2008 at 10:56 am #

I think the black taylored shirt dress combination (with hat and pink waiste scarf) really sums up the style and personality of the whole website. Everything is so darling!

  28. Rebecca May 23, 2008 at 10:22 am #

I’ve had my eye on the CT Classic Swimsuit for some time now… I love the vintage look! All the other swimsuits I’ve seen out there (and I think I’ve looked EVERYWHERE) are either skintight or frumpy, but this one is adorable. I’d wear it with a big pair of Jackie O sunglasses or maybe even a swimming cap to complete the vintage look, and I’d be set.

Ok, so today, like any other day, I logged into my Google reader and over on the right hand side was a “recommended feed” area. This post was there. Now, keep in mind, I almost *never* glance at that little box, but today I did. And I followed the link here. And I went to the Christa Taylor website and….
I’m speechless! (ok, if you knew me, you’d know that was impossible)
I have an almost 14 yr old dd. And I see how most almost 14 yr old girls dress, and it’s appalling. No wonder boys have such a hard time with lust! Anyway, after scouring the website (a few times), I decided to join in on the contest…..I think the Bouquet Top epitomizes the Christa Taylor line.
Why? Because it’s bright and cheery. Because the floral pattern gives it a feminine touch. Because it’s long enough to cover the belly AND the back-crack. And it covers the chest and bra strap area perfectly. Because the Peter Pan collar (I think that’s what it’s called) is classic and therefore a timeless style. And because the contrasting ribbon at the waist totally makes your eyes go away from the bust area and focus on something else.
    LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
Thanks for the chance to win!

I love the Saphire Del Mar Frock. I hate to say this because I don’t want to advertise it because I’m planning to see if it’s in my budget and make a puchase. TY!

  31. Heather May 23, 2008 at 8:03 am #

Just LOVE the Eyelet Catie Dress- every lady needs a simple black dress. This one looks perfect not only for during the day but just add som fancy jewerly & it would be great for evening. I have to also agree w/ Ana- I love the modest but trendy skirts. Can’t wait to order soon!

  32. Kam A May 23, 2008 at 6:50 am #

I think the item that defines Christa Taylor is the Light Jersey Tunic. It is trendy and cute, not too revealing! Great clothes- completely my style! Thank you for the giveaway!

  33. Stacey May 23, 2008 at 6:23 am #

I loved the white eyelet catie dress. It is adorable, mosdest, feminine and you can’t beat the price! I love that your sister/family has seen the need for modest and feminine attire at affordable prices and gone for it. I think it’s just wonderful! :)

  34. Carey May 23, 2008 at 5:56 am #

Love the clothes. They are simple, classy and fashionable. And they are here in Canada!!!!!! I have a hard time finding clothes out there today that are modest and not a fortune, hence I barely buy clothes and if i do, they usually end up going back.

  35. Meredith May 23, 2008 at 5:24 am #

I love all the clothes at Christa Taylor! I think there should also be a maternity line! It is so hard to find cute, trendy, and modest maternity wear (that is in a price range normal people can afford!). Target is about the only place, but I would much rather buy from CT!

I would have to say that Saphire Del Mar Frock is the one I would pick. It is classic, elegant, and modern at the same time! I think of all those words when I think of Christa Taylor :)

  36. Erica May 23, 2008 at 4:52 am #

I agree with Sarah Rogers…the Lily Boucle is so up-to-date and entirely modest! I love it!

This is my first visit to that sire and you can bet I’m bookmarking it! My husband promised me a shopping trip when the law school loans are finally paid off this summer…and I think I’ve found where I’ll be doing it!

  37. Sarah May 23, 2008 at 4:33 am #

Saphire Del Mar Frock dress with the Cultured Cabbie hat! Great store!

Whenever I think of Christa Taylor her skirts always come to mind. They are trendy, modest, and feminine, everything I love. Since I am still trying to lose some baby (& chocolate) weight I haven’t purchased anything. But once I get to my ideal weight Christa’s will be one of my favorite shops.

  39. Ruth Ann May 22, 2008 at 7:20 pm #

I really like the CT classic swimsuit!!! It looks great – and it’s modest. Wow!!

  40. Linds May 22, 2008 at 6:28 pm #

I think the Light Jersey Tunic defines Christa-Taylor. It looks great for summer and warm weather but it’s modest, wider straps and cleavage covered-but super cute!

  41. Wendy May 22, 2008 at 6:10 pm #

I see that the “Cafe Dress” has all ready been chosen – but that’s my favorite too!! I love it’s classic style – with a fun twist using the polka dot accents. Love, love, love the clothes on Christa-Taylor!! Great job! (Love reading your blog too, Lindsay!)

  42. michelle rosborough May 22, 2008 at 5:54 pm #

    Black Coat Dress

  43. Ann May 22, 2008 at 5:41 pm #

Penelton Plaid cami is my fav…and the one swimsuit I saw was…well, different…I’m not sure if it would fit my body type, but it reminded me of the victorian era…and that’s cool too!

  44. Johannah B May 22, 2008 at 5:36 pm #

Cafe Dress — dress it up, dress it down, modest, appealing, and affordable.

  45. karin May 22, 2008 at 5:22 pm #

I think the Marseilles Island Dress –it’s young, fun and stylish.

  46. kelly May 22, 2008 at 5:09 pm #

    Lindsay,
I love the Christa Taylor line just as much as I enjoy reading your blog (a lot). My favorite is the Red and Navy Cafe dresses. They are a classic style with a pretty hint of polka dot and ruffle. I also think the shirt dresses are a classic. What I love is that the clothes are modest, feminine, very AFFORDABLE, and so pretty! A lot of the modest clothing out there is a tad bit dowdy. I want to be modest but still stylish.

  47. Sarah Rogers May 22, 2008 at 4:51 pm #

Oh, I love so many of the CT clothes! Christa does such a good job:). I’d have to say that the coatdresses and the lily boucle tunic are a good representation of CT because not only are they modest and cute, but they are also very trendy and up-to-date. And I’ve fallen in love with the Nautical Blazer…..it’s really cute.

Keep up the good work, Christa, and thanks Lindsay!

    Eyelet Catie Dress :)

  49. Angel May 22, 2008 at 1:28 pm #

    Hi, Lindsay,

I have to take advantage of this opportunity to win a gift certificate to christa-taylor.com. Weekly, it seems, I browse the website, dreaming of the day when I’ll have enough money to buy some clothes…it’s been quite an exercise in patience and contentment. Anyway…

For me, I had to choose two items that “define Christa Taylor,” and, yes, they are the two items I most want. I am in love with the Minuet Denim Skirt and the Bouquet Top. Together, they make a beautiful, feminine summer outfit, but the jean skirt especially provides endless options for modest and feminine dress year-round.

    God Bless,
    Angel

I liked the brussels tunic. It’s versatile (can be worn with leggings or jeans), simple yet elegant, and modest (the length will also help minimize a well-endowed hinny! :) ). Hope I win! Phebe
